StarLink and NBN Fibre is all go!

StarLink and NBN Fibre is all go!

Well, what a few weeks it has been! StarLink installations are coming more and more common often as the NBN FTTP is still not here for may of our country or regional customers. Yeah, sure, if you can get FTTP that is brilliant. But FTTN anf FTTC is still lagging waaay behind in speeds we need today.

Latrobe Valley and it’s towns (like Moe, Morwell, Traralgon) are slowly getting FTTP, but nothing happens fast. Even Newborough & Yallourtn North are flagged for FTTP this year, yup 2025!!! There will be some issues with older estates that still have “ye olde” copper aireal drop-wires. NBN will not do FTTP via an aireal and will have to install new underground counduits to everyone’s home, I think they missed that…

To top it off, Starlink is offering crazy deals that seem to defy logic. There was a “Get a dish for free” and also big % off the 1st 12 months. If you’re struggling with FTTN or FTTC and FTTP fibre is coming (sometime) maybe look at Elon’s offer in the interim until FTTP is here. I reckon StarLink will slow down over time as more users jump online, but why not get it now, especially of you can get a good deal? Sign up for 12 months, then jump to FTTP if that becomes a reality. DONT BUY A SECOND HAND DISH! They are giving them away, why pay?

Fibre is gotta be the way to go though. As long as NBN and the ISP’s build the back-end for high volume of traffic and don’t skimp, then fibre is the future. There other fibre suppliers coming out of the woodwork as well and competing with NBN, that is great. Keep an eye out for the NBN alternatives!
